Vascular Surgery Options

Most Sanford Health vascular surgeries are done laparoscopically. With this technique, you’ll recover faster, scar less and get better outcomes.

We work to find an option that works for you while also addressing the severity of your condition. All our procedures are focused on decreasing recovery time and increasing patient satisfaction.

Varicose Vein Treatments

Varicose veins are unsightly, enlarged veins that most commonly appear in the legs or feet. While usually harmless, these veins can cause swelling, pain and discomfort.

We’ll first look at how slight changes in your lifestyle can treat varicose veins. Exercising, losing weight, wearing loose clothing and elevating your feet can help. Talk to your provider about how to relieve your pain and keep the condition from worsening.

You also have nonsurgical treatment options, such as compression stockings. These elastic stockings gently squeeze veins in the legs to improve blood flow. This keeps blood from pooling and reduces pain.

Varicose vein surgeries and procedures work to close or remove the veins. We offer less invasive procedures like external laser treatments or sclerotherapy. All varicose vein surgeries are minimally invasive and done on an outpatient basis. This means you go home the same day, recover faster and get rid of your varicose veins.
