Paul Berger III, FCCP, provides pulmonary, critical and neurocritical care.
He performs a variety of procedures, including:

- Central airway obstruction ablation
- Endobronchial ultrasound
- External ventricular drain (EVD) placement
- Intracranial pressure (ICP) monitor placement
- Navigational bronchoscopy
Dr. Berger is the first Sanford Health physician to offer the Monarch Platform, a robotic pulmonary tool. He is also the first to offer it in the state of South Dakota. The Monarch Platform is a minimally invasive, endoscopic device that uses the latest in robotic technology to give physicians a real-time and 3D view of the lungs during the procedure. The Monarch Platform helps physicians make lung disorder diagnoses earlier to provide more effective treatments and improved patient outcomes.
Dr. Berger is an assistant professor at the University of South Dakota Sanford School of Medicine and assistant professor of internal medicine at the Idaho College of Osteopathic Medicine. He is also an adjunct clinical professor at the Kansas Health Sciences Center. Dr. Berger serves as the division chief of pulmonary and critical care for the University of South Dakota Sanford School of Medicine.
