Caring for Sick Newborns
As a Neonatologist, Dr. Mohamed specializes in the care of premature and critically ill newborn babies in the NICU.
He cares for infants with a range of conditions including:
- Prematurity
- Respiratory failure
- Congenital anomalies
- Pulmonary hypertension
- Hypoxic ischemic encephalopathy
- Seizures
- Congenital heart disease
- Sepsis
He also specializes in resuscitation and stabilization of infants at birth.
Dr. Mohamed also serves as Clinical Associate Professor of Pediatrics at the University of North Dakota School of Medicine and Health Services. He is the physician lead for the NICU Chronic Respiratory Care team providing specialized care for infants with chronic lung disease. He is also a Neonatal Resuscitation Program Instructor.
